Umm.. first week of school was fine. Very tiring. Professors are kinda.. good. But I believe I may have a hard time studying.. cause when laziness strikes, it's hard to deal with it, sometimes. Hmmm.. Yeah, that's all. I guess.
Hope y'all have a great weekend! God bless!

HERE'S THE PART TWO :)
_____________________________________________________________________

Weeks passed with a blur, nothing had changed much. Hayley began to ask herself if Chad had something to do with Jane’s death. Suspicious, she was incredibly thinking about it every single day. Because of the bloodstain. She had finished another song and decided to give it to Jeremy. She knocked on the open door, when Jeremy looked up, a warm smile came up to her face. “Nice Job, Hayles.” Jeremy commented, pressing his back on his chair. “Excuse me? Did I miss something?” Hayley asked, completely puzzled. She haven’t handed her song to Jeremy and yet he was giving a compliment. “I’m talking about your song. Josh passed it a week ago.” He explained, his hands under his chin. “Sorry, but.. I don’t know anything about that.” She sat down nervously on the chair near Jeremy’s desk. “Oh.” He stared at the window for a while then back to Hayley. “Wait, here’s the song.” He handed the song to Hayley, written on a paper, almost brownish. She recognized the handwriting, it was hers. “How come Josh gave it to you? When I kept it all along at my house. That’s completely impossible. This can’t walk by itself.” “Okay, you’d better ask Josh about this, first. Then, we’ll talk things out when it’s clear enough.” “Thanks. Anyway, here’s my song.” She handed him her song, written freshly on a music paper. “Wow. So here’s the deal here Hayley. Since that’s really a good song, I want you to sing it. I asked Josh if he knew the melody, but he said he didn’t. I will give you a break if you want. So do, Josh. I mean, you two can become singers.” He smiled. She was stuck by Jeremy’s last words. Singers. She felt excited about it, but the feeling she had regarding her other song, being passed without her awareness, she felt mad. As she filled her head with different explanation, she bumped into someone while she was walking with her head down. She muttered her sorry and she accepted it. A woman, who seemed to be on her twenties. Wearing a plain green dress, with a collar, matching up with a silver heart pendant and a handy purse. She was blonde, her hair was short but straight. Her eyes were blue, thin lips, no doubt, beautiful. She heard Jeremy greeted the woman cheerfully, like they’ve been friends for a long time. Looking at her own clothes, she was disappointed. She shook her head then left.
As soon as she reached Josh’s apartment, she knocked more than five times on the door. In any minute, maybe, the door would collapse. She leaned on the wall, next to the it, closing her eyes and humming to make herself calm. It swung open, then Hayley made herself conspicuous. Josh seemed down, he tried to smile but it was obvious that he wasn’t in the mood. She tried to compose herself, she didn’t want to yell or anything close to it. She just want some explanation. “Hey.” She greeted, walking in. “Hey, too. How’s your song? Did you pass it already?” He sat down across Hayley. “Yup.” She replied. “So, when did you get this? How?” She asked, raising the music paper. He examined first what was written there, before he realized that it was the song he had passed to Jeremy a week ago. “Oh, I saw it on the floor one morning, just there. I thought you—” “Wait, what?” She asked. “I saw it right there.” He pointed the floor. “Probably you slipped it under the door or something.” “That’s completely impossible! I did not slip it under the door!” Both of them remained silent for a while, then a soft knock was heard. Josh opened the door, and Hayley’s little brother stood silently. His head was down, and he kept on twisting his fingers together. “So..rry.” He muttered as Josh led him to the couch. “Don’t get mad to bwather Josh. I..did slip that song of yers. I really, really like everything about it, Hawyley. I‘m afraid that if I told you to pass it, you won‘t awgree.” “But— I told you not to touch my personal things.” “That’s why I’m sorry.” Taylor cried, rubbing his eyes with his fingers. “I’m..So..rryyyyy.” He said in between sobs. “Okay.” She sighed. “Come ‘ere.” Then Taylor reached for her sister’s arm and sat beside her. “I won’t get mad at you, you should have asked me first. Anyway, I have a surprise for the both of you.” she smiled. “Wowt is it? Oh Hawyley!” Taylor jumped. “Tell us.” Josh exclaimed, waiting. “Jerms said that he would give us a break. We could be singers!” She exclaimed with excitement on her voice. “Wow!! Hawyley!! You should sing that song! Big bwather Jowsh would love it!” Taylor laughed. “So, shall we celebrate?” Josh asked, standing up. “Yey! Yey!” Taylor jumped up and down, shaking his head. “Where? Josh. You don’t have to.” “No, We’ll celebrate.”
As soon as they walked in, their noses were filled with mouthwatering aroma. Taylor felt better, it seemed like they were having a family bonding together. Hayley, on the other hand, was silent. Not that she was shy, but because she was glad than ever. Josh was glad too, but he was thinking that singing was alright. But he definitely prefer to play with his guitar. A host welcomed them in, wearing a white polo and a checkered skirt, hair was pulled in a bun, with a small notepad and a pen on her hand. “Table for three?” She asked with a smile. “Yes, please.” Josh replied. The host led them to a table against the glass wall, the three of them sat together. Josh sat across Hayley, and Taylor sat beside her. “Please wait for the menus.” The host said and left. “Josh, really. Thanks.” She smiled, as he squeezed Josh’s hand over the table. Taylor was grinning, looking from Hayley to Josh. He was absolutely glad that there was something going on between her sister and Josh. They had ordered and they engaged themselves to eating, surprisingly Josh’s phone rang. He excused himself and answered the call. “Hey, Jerms.” He greeted. “ ‘Yo, Josh. Just want to inform you that we’ll have a party the day after tomorrow . Tell Hayley, ‘kay?” “Cool.” “You can bring someone along. Like that kiddo, I think that’s Hayles’ little brother.” “Wow, sure.” “Don’t forget to tell Hayley.” “’Kay. See you at work.” “Bye.” As he made his way back to his seat, he told Hayley about the coming party. Her eyes lit up with excitement, but she was worried if she would bring Chad or not. She couldn’t leave her boyfriend at the apartment alone, he might involve himself with alcohol again. Quietly, she took a bite from her pizza. Josh stuffed a fry on his mouth and shifted his gaze to Hayley, studying her face. “You okay?” Josh asked as he popped another fry on his mouth. She suddenly straighten up. “Yep.” She forced a smile. “You look like you’re thinking of something, or someone.” “I’m just kinda worried. Should I bring Chad?” Josh brows puckered, stuffed a fry before he answer. “It’s up to you.” He felt jealous. She just nodded.

..... THE NEXT CHAPTER. SORRY, LATE AGAIN. : PLS EXCUSE THE ERRORS. THANKS.
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Chad hurriedly made his way to their apartment, shut the door and locked it. His shirt was soaked with sweat, his hair was damp, his breath was hot and his sight doubled. Bumping and falling, he managed his way up to Hayley, who was watching television calmly. “Hay..ley.” He said, catching his breath. “Ahh! Chad! Are you alright?” She asked. She helped him sit on the old dusty couch and let him relax a bit. She saw a few blood stains on his shirt, as well as his hands and pants. She glanced at him, still wondering, worried at the same time. Her hands were tightly curled up on her lap. Then she heard loud footsteps and murmurs. Her heart was hammering against her chest, afraid that her hunch might be true. Praying she was wrong, she stood up and made her way to the door. “Don’t you dare to open that, Hayley!” Chad shouted. “But.. I’m going to check what’s going on outside. It’s no big deal, isn’t it?” She asked calmly, though she was afraid what he could do if she would insist. “Fine, go ahead and don’t go back ever again!” He yelled. She stood there frozen, holding the door knob. Then she let herself sat on the floor, her head against the wall. “The woman has been murdered.” a manly voice said. “Do you know anyone who goes at her place?” another man asked. “No, I don’t. She lives all by herself.” A familiar voice said, the landlord. “Hayley, what are you doin’ there, eh? Prepare my dinner.” Chad interrupted. “Uh.. Sure, sure.” She said, standing up. Before she reached the kitchen, someone knocked at the door. “Sh*t! Hayley, get that.” He commanded, then he disappeared to the bathroom.
As she opened the door, a tall man was standing in front of her. An inspector. As usual, wearing their all-black uniform. She had to look up a bit before she could see the face of the cop. Long face, pointed nose, blue eyes, slightly thick brows and a tan. “Good evening miss, I’m just here for a few questions. If you don’t mind.” He greeted. She quickly closed the door behind her. “Um.. Do you know Jane?” He asked, holding a pen and a pocket notebook. “Yes, certainly.” “Have you seen someone suspicious around here?” “None.” “Very well then. Thank you.” “Wait-. Can I ask you something?” She asked worriedly. “What happened to Jane?” “She‘s dead.” The inspector left, she stood there at the doorway looking from her left and right. She saw Josh standing on his doorway. He looked worried, his hands were on his pockets as he continuously talk to a man before him. Few people were roaming around, going up and down the stairs, talking to each other. Didn’t know what to do, she turned her back and placed her hands on the knob. She felt sick.
She went inside, closed the door and made her way to the kitchen. She prepared the plate, fork, and a glass of water over the table, as well as the pasta. She sat down and buried her face on her hands. “What happened?” Chad asked, putting his shirt on. “It’s Jane. I don’t know.. She died. I guess someone killed her.” She replied, slowly removing her hands on her face. “Ah, I see.” He sat down across Hayley and started filling his plate with food. “Don’t you care? Your ex-girlfriend got killed?” Chad shot her with an alarming glare, he was mad. His eyes was burning with anger, his face was in pain and irritation. Her heart thumped wildly, her lips shuddered, she gulped. She didn’t mean to blurt it that way. He stood up from his seat, so did Hayley. She knew what would happen next, panic was on her again. She stepped back, she couldn’t run, because if she does, things would be a lot worst. Chad grabbed her, and placed his hands on her neck. Trembling, she placed her hands on his chest, trying to push him away. She couldn’t push him away. “P..l..ease.” She choked. “I..am..so..rry. I didn’t mean to. I swear. Chad, please. It HURTS!” He leaned in and whispered, “Don’t ever mention anything about my past. If you don’t shut your f****** mouth, I’ll make sure you’ll be dead in no time, understand?” She nodded. Then, Chad loosen his hands on her neck. Blood suddenly came rushing into her pale face. Her knees collapsed, she fell down coated with fear. He made his foot move in motion, kicking her weak leg. She could bear the pain, though it seemed her body would give up any minute. She just bit her lower lip to endure the pain that was crawling up on her right leg. (Why don’t you try to fight?.. I can’t.. ) Taylor came rushing to her side, tears sprung on his eyes. He saw everything, but this time.. He did not dare to listen and look. “Dawn’t hurt me’ sistah!” Taylor cried. Chad was about to hit Taylor when the kid spoke, “ ‘ya said ya love my sishter! Why are you hurtin’ her? Don’t you love her?” Then he stand before Hayley, spreading his arms wide. “I won’t let ‘ya hurt my sishter again. ‘Caush I love ‘er!” He fixed his gaze to Hayley, who was crying too, her hand was curled on Taylor’s shirt. While the kid, stood firm on his position. He bowed his head and sat down, then someone knocked on the door again. “Hey, you guys okay there?” “Yeah.” Chad replied. He felt someone punched his stomach so bad. The kid was right. He silently finished his dinner and locked himself on the bedroom. Abandoning Hayley and Taylor. “ ‘Ya okay?” Taylor asked, as he hugged her sister. “Yah, thanks. You?” She said, combing his brother’s hair with her hand. “Quite scared. Hawyley, we have to leave this instant.” He mumbled. “No, we’ll stay here. Please.” Taylor looked at her, then nodded slowly. “If you shay so.”

GUYS. SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE! :( EXAM WEEK: HAD TO STUDY.But.. I promise, I'll try to update after my last day of exam which is on thursday. hope you understand. and uh.. anyways, enjoy :]
___________________________________________________________________________________

The sun gleamed perfectly, sending warm rays on the Josh‘s living room. Hayley sat on the floor, continuously writing a new song. Her small back was leaning against the wall, knees were pulled closer to her chest, her huge notebook was resting on her left hand, whereas, a shiny silver pen was twirling around her right hand. Few crumbled papers were surrounding her, almost five or so. She was completely enjoying every second of her allotted time for music yet she just couldn‘t find the exact words for her song. For her incredible song. As she wrapped herself with feelings, she moved her gaze to Josh. A sudden and strange feeling crossed over her troubled mind, and heart. “What am I thinking?” She asked herself, silently. “I don’t love him, really. I don’t love Josh!” (Are you sure?) “Yes, I..” Her thoughts suddenly came to a halt. “Honestly, I don’t know.” (Just make sure you’re doing the right decision. Chad?) “Yea, Oh Chad! I completely forgot about him! Oh Hayley! What are you gonna do? You just can’t love two guys at once!” She tone down the rumbling thoughts on her head and tried to focus again. Closing her eyes, she rested her head on the wall. She was thankful for the job, well at least, Chad let her go to work. She wondered aimlessly, drowning herself again. Three hours had passed, the sun was about to set. She frowned, the picture of her kissing Josh just popped out of her head. (You like it.) (No.. Okay, Maybe I do. But what the heck? STOP! STOP!)
Wait, don't go away. Just not yet. Cause I thought, I had it. But I forget.
And I won't let you fall away, From me. You will never fade. And I won't let you fall away. From me. You will never fade away from me.
And now I let my dreams consume me, And tell me what to think. But hold on, Hold on. What am I dreaming?
Josh was looking for a perfect chords on his old buddy guitar that would literally match the lyrics of his own song. He was on the other couch, focused.
The perfect words never crossed my mind 'Cause there was nothing in there but you I felt every ounce of me, screaming out But the sound was trapped deep in me
All I wanted, just sped right past me But I was rooted fast to the earth I could be stuck here for a thousand years Without your arms to drag me out
There you are, standing right in front of me There you are, standing right in front of me All this fear falls away, you leave me naked Hold me close, cause I need you to guide me to safety
All of a sudden, he stopped when he saw Hayley, her head was tilted, like she was sleeping. Placing the guitar on the floor, he got up and made his way to her. She must be tired, he thought. When he was standing near her, he sat down silently, and slowly reached for Hayley’s cheeks. As he placed his warm hands on Hayley’s face, she abruptly turned to him with a puzzled expression. Josh’s hands suddenly dropped, and his eyes met hers. A long, heart-stopping stare was between the two of them. No one spoke, they just remained silent for a couple of minutes. Her lips abruptly made a way for a smile, her hazel green eyes were dancing in gladness. He gave in, he smiled back. “Why are you staring at me?” She asked. Smiling, her brows were raised up. “Why? Is it bad?” He answered, grinning. “Nah, it’s just that.. I feel embarrassed.” Biting her lower lip, then eventually hide her face on her hands. “Why? You shouldn’t be, miss.” He reached for her hands and put it down. He leaned in, unhurriedly, looking from her eyes then down to her lips. It was sending chills on her spine, and she liked it. She closed her eyes and waited for Josh’s lips to be pressed on hers. It was different, a different kind of feeling. She never felt like this before. Chad never kissed her that way. As Josh deepened the kiss, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back. His fingers stroke her hair softly, as he led his kiss to a sweet stop. “Sorry.” He mumbled. “What for?” She asked, resting her head on his chest. “Hayley, I love you.” He said as he placed his hands on Hayley’s shoulder. She didn’t know what to say. (You love him too, right! Come on! Say it!) (..But.. Chad.) (He never loved you…) “ ‘s okay if you don’t say anything. I.. Understand.” He gulped. He felt like crying as he swallowed those words. “You’re already taken by someone.” He said sadly. “Shh..” She placed her one finger on Josh’s lips. “I.. lo-”
Hayley was about to say those three words to Josh, when a loud booming sound interrupted her from doing so. Upstairs. Like something dropped hard, they exchanged an alarming look. “What’s that?” She asked, standing up. “Dunno. Let’s go and check it.” “No.. Don’t. It must be uh.. The landlord, I guess.” She said, holding Josh’s wrist.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Taylor woke up from his sweet sleep, yawning, and stretching his arms as he got out to find her sister. He wandered along the hallway, searching, looking from left to right. Took a few steps, then he reached a familiar door. He stood mutely, his eyes were fixed on the unfurnished wooden floor. Later on, with a close fist, he raised it up to the door as if to knock, but he realized that it could be alright if he wouldn’t. Big bwather Josh will be surprised, he thought. He curled his small fingers on the door knob, and twisted it slowly. As he push the door lightly, he sluggishly sneaked in, then closed the door behind him. Not making a sound. Tiptoeing and hands half-raised, he examined the place. It had been quite a long time since he had seen this place. He missed Josh a lot. It wasn’t like Hayley was forbidding him to make a visit, but he was afraid that maybe Chad would caught him going at this place, then he would eventually beat his sister while he was not around. He was afraid, what if Chad would locked the door and not let him get inside. That would be a big trouble. Yes, Chad may have changed, or it seemed that he did, but maybe he was only faking it. He took a few steps before he reached the kitchen, and saw her sister’s back, eventually he saw Josh. His jaw dropped wide open, he could not believe what a view was on, and hurriedly placed his tiny hands on his eyes for cover. “Hay, is thaff you? Bwather Josh?” He asked, still covering his eyes. Both Hayley and Josh suddenly jumped in bewilderment, and looked for the one who had talked. The look on their faces was like on those who had been caught in the act. Well, they really were caught in the middle of the act. Hayley covered her mouth before she gasped, while Josh pursed his lips. Two pair of eyes were looking intently on a kid just almost fifteen steps away. Taylor his hands from his face and slowly open his one eye. Then, followed by the other one. “I just, sorry, guys, really, I don’t.. know..that you, umm.. That you.. You two-” He spoke. “Okay, Tay, sorry for that too. So, up for some games? Food? What?” Josh asked. He didn’t like being caught, he didn’t even know what he would say. After all, Tay was only a kid, he was too young for that, maybe. he thought. “Anything! Yehey!” He jumped with joy. He could sense that it must be awkward or it was bad that he interrupted from her sister and his big bwather Josh. Hoping that both of them were not mad at him. And how he wished that Hayley would marry bwather Josh in the near future, if that would be possible. Chad was a monster for him, a mean, huge, sort of a frightening beast with huge sharp teeth, his body was like that of a dinosaur. He had seen a dinosaur once, on the TV shop while he and Hayley were strolling outside. “Okay then, wait there.” Josh pointed the living room. “Plug in anything you want, got new episodes of Sponge bob there. Pick.” He smiled. “Whoaa! Churr! Churr! Hawyley, c’mon. You helpf me.”
Taylor turned to his sister and asked, “Hawyley, do you lov’ big bwather Josh?” The three of them sat together, watching Sponge Bob. He sat between Josh and Hayley, a bowl of popcorn was sitting on his lap. Josh suddenly froze and shifted his gaze to Taylor then to Hayley. She just let out a smile. “Oh come on Haywley!” He pleaded, making a few popcorns spilled from the bowl. “I love Josh, as a friend, Tay.” “Ahhhh. Bu’ Chad? You love him too as a friend?” “No, not a friend. More than that.” “Okay, but how about you big bwather Josh? Do you lov’ mah sishter?” “Yes, as a friend.” Josh gulped. He wanted to blurt Yes, I love your sister. But more than friends. “Okay, so you guysh can be married now. You love each awther, right?” He said, almost pleading. “No, we can’t, little Tay.” Josh answered. “Maybe, your sister Hayley and Chad will.” He gulped again, it was really hard to pretend. But he had to. “Is that true Hawyley? You wul marry Chad? UGHHHH!” Taylor blurted out, nearly standing up from his seat. “Maybe, some other time. But not now.” She replied simply, then looked directly at Josh. Her eyes met his, and she whispered sorry. Josh nodded. “EH!!” Taylor shrieked. “Tay, stop it.’ Hayley shot. She must have been annoyed. First, Taylor saw her and Josh making out. She felt naked deep down inside. What could his little brother think of her? Second, that question. Marriage. It seemed absurd for her, how in the world his brother had thought about such. He was only a kid. Taylor suddenly frowned and stood up, sat down from another couch across where he sat with Hayley and Josh. (What’sh the matter with Hawyley? If she love big bwather Josh as a friend, she should marry him. SHE REALLY MUST! I can feel it, it’s not only as a friend, it’s more than that. She‘s lying to me? Oh no! I‘ll find a way, just wait.) After watching, Taylor asked Josh if he could play a song for him. Of course, for Hayley too. Without hesitation, Josh said yes. He grabbed his guitar, and had begun to strum. The first time after two years, he would sing again in front someone who had been close to him. “Big bwather Josh! Can I ashk you a favor?” “Sure, anything.” “Can yo’ play a shong from your composhition, plish?” He asked innocently. “ ‘Kay.” He begun, strumming amazingly, and blurted the lyrics perfectly.
Somewhere there's speaking It's already coming in Oh and it's rising at the back of your mind You never could get it Unless you were fed it Now you're here and you don't know why
But under skinned knees and the skid marks Past the places where you used to learn You howl and listen Listen and wait for the Echoes of angels who won't return
He's everything you want He's everything you need He's everything inside of you That you wish you could be He says all the right things At exactly the right time But he means nothing to you And you don't know why
You're waiting for someone To put you together You're waiting for someone to push you away There's always another wound to discover There's always something more you wish he'd say.
He ended the song there, actually, it was not yet finish but he wanted to. Taylor clapped his hands together, amazed. “Wow! You’re amazing big bwather Josh! OHHH! Just sho you know, Hawyley wrote a few songs before we got here. I think it was amazing too.” He leaned closely to Josh’s ear, and told him so. “Really? Hayley, is that true?” He asked. “You wrote a few songs before?” Hayley turned her head to Josh and afterwards looked at his little brother. “Yes, I did.” She replied softly. “Great! I’ll call Jerms. Maybe, you can have a work by next week? I didn’t know you’re a composer too.” “Wait. Josh.” She said, stopping Josh from calling Jeremy. “Why? Don’t you want a work?” “I want to. But, I’ll ask Chad first.” She replied. _______________________________________________________________________

HEY, SORRY FOR THE LATE POST. ANYWAY, ENJOY :)
_______________________________________________________________________________

Weeks went by like a wind. Chad had been quiet as the week passed by. He didn’t drink, yell and hurt his beloved girlfriend. That was good. He wanted to change, to open his doors again and learn how to cope with anything he might encounter. A difficult move for him to do, like he was playing a chess and it was like a matter of life and death. I wanted this change, he said to himself. He promised Hayley that he would try his very best to find a work and to start a new life, with no alcohols around. She agreed, even though she was afraid that one day Chad might change his mind and return to his old doings.
Josh felt miserable, he wasn’t given any chance again to see Hayley and Taylor for almost three weeks. There were no yelling, screaming and breaking of glasses. As if none of them ever existed in that apartment. An urge within him, telling him to step out his rented room and steal Hayley and Taylor away from that guy named Chad. He opened the door, then looked straight over the woman standing in front of him, beautiful as ever. He fell in love, no doubt. He did. The woman smiled, making his heart sank with happiness. Her hair was pulled into a bun, then her face was like glowing at that time, no fresh bruises, no tears on her hazel green eyes. Nil. Josh walked slowly towards Hayley, then hugged her. She rubbed Josh’s back, wondering. “Josh? Are you alright?” She asked, pulling away from Josh’s tight hug. “Yes, now that you’re here. I’m definitely alright.” He blurted out. “Okay.” She smiled. She felt like she had done something to Josh that made him act that way. She didn’t mind it, maybe it was nothing. Silence. “Are you going to let me stand here forever?” Hayley laughed. “No, come on in.” Josh said, a smile could not be removed from his handsome face.
Hayley went inside, while Josh closed the door. She was surprised and impressed, the room was well-organized. Two huge paintings were hanging on his wall, behind the CD rack. An abstract painting, which there was a plenty of pictures as you looked at it closely. The second was a painting of a yellow and black butterfly on a sand. She remembered everything, fresh as the morning sunshine. Her life was good now. And she was delighted to share it to Josh. A friend. Just a friend. She pressed her back on the comfortable couch which was across Josh’s. “Hayles, Can I ask you something?” He asked. She shifted her gaze to Josh and nodded willingly. “Chad, where is he?” “He already left, Josh.” She said dramatically. “For his work.” Hayley smiled. “Oh, I see. So, do you want a drink or something to eat?” “Anything will do, thanks.”
Josh felt a twinge of jealousy. It must have been crawling towards him ever since Hayley mentioned his mean boyfriend, like a snake. Ready to attack him if he ever made a wrong move. Oh yes. Yes. He already made that deadly move, and the only cure was Hayley from its poisonous venom. He felt sick. Knowing that he could not have the remedy for his serious condition. It had been one year since Josh had a girlfriend, her name was Jenna. She was tall, simple, tantalizing eyes, short hair and kind. They lasted for almost four years. They had broken up because Josh found out that Jenna was only using him for her financial stuff. It was a rainy evening, he was about to walk in when he heard Jenna talking on the phone. Blurting out everything. He was betrayed, by the only person he loved the most. Since then, he didn’t have the courage to fall in love again. Not until she met Hayley when he moved in. (Oh yes. I’m definitely using him. Just using him. JUST USING HIM..) “Josh? Are you alright?” Hayley asked worriedly. Her brows wrinkled and her eyes twinkled. She placed her soft hands on Josh’s arms. He did not respond, he wanted to. But the words didn’t want to come out from his mouth. It were locked inside his throat. In silence, both of them stood so close to each other. His head was bowed down, while Hayley looked up to him. “Hey, Josh. What’s the matter?” She asked once again. Josh just gazed at her with sadness on his face. “Huh? I’m.. Fine. I’m sorry.” Josh replied suddenly. Like he suddenly woke up from a deep sleep of gloomy nightmare. “You sure?” He nodded.
Hayley was puzzled, there was something about Josh that made her think deeply. She brushed aside the thought that maybe Josh had an awful experience from his past or just now. She didn’t know. Later on, she didn’t even realize that her lips were pressed on Josh’s. Her body felt weak as Josh deepened the kiss, his arms were wrapped around her small waist. She tried to pull away, but he grabbed her again and kiss her more. She never let go that time. There was something about his kiss which made her give up.
I won’t let you fall away From me You will never fade away You will never..

“Ahhh! Jerms, will you come over? Bring Zac along. Someone needs your help!” Josh exclaimed that evening on the phone. His apartment was full of crumpled paper. For two reasons: One, he couldn’t figure out what words he should write on the neat paper. Second, all about Taylor and Hayley. “Oh why oh why Josh! Fine, we’ll be there.” Jeremy replied. “Thanks, I’ll be waiting. Bye.” Josh hung up. He was desperate to find out the truth about Chad and Hayley. No matter how he tried to brush away the thought from his stubborn mind, he couldn’t. It had been almost three hours since he last saw Hayley and Taylor and he was troubled. He did not know what was going on. He was thinking what might possibly happen to those two. Deafening silence. No screaming, no breaking of glasses or plates. Nothing at all. He couldn’t even understand what he was writing.
“I'm fallin' in love But it's fallin' apart. I need to find my way back to the start. When we were in love.”
“Ugh!” He muttered and dropped down the paper and pen. Effortlessly, he stepped out of his room and started to disturb one of his neighbors. Standing on the door next to his, he felt uneasy. A close fist, ready to knock on the room with the number 7 metal on top, the door suddenly swung open. It was Chad, standing with a bored, puzzled look on his long face for the reason of Josh’s fist, hanging in the air. “Who w-are you?” Chad asked, wearing a suspicious look. “Uh.. Is there someone named Hayley who lives here? ‘Cause, the landlord is looking for her.” Josh lied. “He-ley! Someone’s looking for ya!” Chad shouted. He headed on the main door of the apartment. Hayley walked towards Josh who was standing on the doorway, then waited for Chad to disappear outside the dark. Her face had a smudge of make-up, no, it was blood again. Those hazel green eyes were wet again and a small bruise was located just beside her lower lip. “What are you doin’ here, Josh?” Hayley whispered, like she was talking secretly. “I.. I’m just worried. That’s all. How are you? How’s Taylor?” Josh replied. “I’m okay. Josh, you shouldn’t be here. Tay’s asleep already. Guess he had a long day. Please, go.” Hayley was about to shut the door, when Josh stopped her from doing so. “Not so fast, lady. Since I lied to your uh.. Boyfriend. Come with me and we’ll talk.” He mumbled on a serious tone. “What for? I don’t want to come. And I wouldn’t leave Tay here, alone. You’re just wasting your time, Josh.” Hayley shot him a sad look, like she was pleading. “Fine.” Josh answered, as he turned his back to Hayley and slowly walk towards his door. Hayley closed the door softly. She didn’t know why she was feeling odd when it comes to Josh. Shutting the doors, closing any communication that might have existed, maybe, maybe not. She was still holding the door knob, her hand was curled up to it, she hesitated at first but eventually opened it. “Josh!” she hissed. She was about half way when she looked up, seeing two unfamiliar guys with different hairstyle that was almost similar to Josh’s. And Josh was standing near the two, his brows were raised. “Hmm?” “Okay, let’s talk.” She said breathlessly. Zac and Jeremy focused their attention on the lady, who was standing not just too far away from them. They were like shocked. Zac, Josh’s brother. He liked drums a lot, it was his very addictive hobby. He typically enjoy night life, roaming around, food trips and bars which local bands play. On the other hand, Jeremy Davis. A long-time friend of the Farro Brothers, he was also Josh’s office mate for nearly three years. He was a bassist, a very good one. They could actually form a band, because Josh had been playing the guitar since he was a teenager. But they didn’t have the singer, so they couldn’t make it as a real band. Anyway, they had been busy with their work, so they got no time for forming such band. “Oh. Okay, Josh. You have a girlfriend! Finally! Dude!” Jeremy laughed, Zac joined in as they burst out laughing. “You guys are insane. She’s just my neighbor okay? Just get inside.” Zac and Jeremy went inside, still showing a teasing look on their faces. As soon as they were out of Josh’s and Hayley’s sight, the two stood up quietly. The hallway was too small, it was only three-fourths of the measure of one meter. Hayley cleared her throat and looked directly to Josh. “What is it?” She asked over. “Hayley, did he hurt you again? Tell the truth.” She could not say it to anyone, how Chad had hurt her so many times. It was sad. She was stung, her eyes were filled with tears and her body shook as she sobbed. Silence, that was Hayley’s perspective. She didn’t want to tell stories when it comes to his nasty boyfriend. Josh leaned in towards Hayley, then Hayley slowly hugged Josh. He knew the answer, but that wasn’t enough. He had to know everything. He didn’t want Hayley to be hurt again. “It’ll be okay, Hayley.” He cooed. “I hope so. Josh, you know, I can’t leave Chad. He needs me, and I need him.”
“Seriously? Josh! Are you out of your mind? You’re in love with that woman!” Zac shouted., they were hanging out at Josh’s place. He didn’t talk to Hayley that much, because Chad almost see them, hugging each other. Chad was drunk again, his sight was kinda blurry. “No, I’m not.” Josh retorted. “Drop it guys, eat.” Jeremy called over. “Anyway, Josh. How’s the song?” “Trash.” “What do you mean ‘trash’?” “I don’t know, it was sort of a trash. I’ve written three stanzas-” “Lemme see.” Josh handed him a piece of paper, the one he was holding for almost two hours before he decided to talk to Hayley that night. “Not bad. It’s not a trash. Trust me.” ____________________________________________________________________

Terrible.
Josh stood up and dragged his body on the wall. He pressed his left ear closely, then tried to find out what was going on. Was it Hayley? Josh thought. He gulped. “YOU IDIOT! Shut up or I’ll slap your face with my bare hands!!” Chad voice vibrated over the walls. Everything went silent.
The fear crawled over Hayley’s weak body. She was completely trembling out of terror. As Chad made his way to the small fridge and snatched a bottle of beer, he yelled at Hayley. Loud enough. As if he was talking to a person on the other side of the mountain. Hayley was curled up on the corner, hugging her knees, her face was soaked with fresh and hot tears. She didn’t want to move nor to speak. She could not stop Chad. A brawny man with strange tattoos all over his arms, deep booming voice, strange facial expression and a grim behavior. He proposed to Hayley two years ago, but they never get married. After the proposal, they eloped for some absurd reason. Just because Chad wants to. He always wanted to be alone with Hayley. He thought that his life would be perfect. But hell no, it would never be. Months had passed, and Chad blamed Hayley for everything. Why his life was miserable, why Hayley brought his little brother with them, and endless why this and that. Hayley had a choice. She could have never accepted the proposal, to wear that simple silver ring. But she chose to be with Chad. That guy was drunk, always. Non-stop drinking. He thought it was his vitamins, his life, his only happiness.
“Chad! Where are you going?” Hayley shouted. Her voice was shaky and hoarse. Chad didn’t look back, nor tell where he was heading to. He just left with his beer along. She wiped her tears with her untidy shirt, arise and went to Josh.
“Josh?” She asked over, her voice was low enough. In an instant, Josh was standing in front of Hayley. She was tired, her muscles were aching, her right arm were full of bruises, and then, she swooned. Josh took Hayley on his arms and carry her inside. He laid Hayley on his comfortable bed then snatched a small wet towel and a small basin of warm water. He dabbed the towel slowly on Hayley’s snowy face. The stare, the long amazement stare that Josh was wearing. He felt an urge within, very tempting, then he leaned in and pressed his lips to Hayley. The night passed, and the sunshine was there again. Hayley awoke with the sun rays by the window, she looked around with a puzzled expression, “Where am I?” she rose from the bed and headed outside the room. She saw Josh, who was engaged on preparing something. He was about to grab a pitcher on the fridge when he caught Hayley standing not too far way from him. “Oh hello. Good morning.” He pursed his lips, and smile. “What am I doing here? What happened last night? Where’s Taylor?” Hayley asked worriedly. “Hayley, chill. You fainted, so I had to get you inside. Taylor’s fine, he’s over the living room, playing my PSP. Hungry?” “Sorry again for the bother, but we have to go. If Chad finds out that— no, we’ll leave now.” Hayley was about to made her way to his little brother. When Josh take hold of her wrist, and talk calmly. “Hayley, please, stay.” Josh pleaded. “But if Chad finds out, he might beat me up again.” she exclaimed. “Who’s this Chad, anyway?” He asked curiously. “I. No, I should not be telling you this.” “Fine, I understand. Just stay for breakfast.” “ ‘Kay.”
In the middle of breakfast, Taylor spoke. “Big bwather Josh. This is sho yummy. I newver ‘asted somfthin’ like these foods before. Well I diwd, bu’ not tasty like these.” Josh prepared a few loaves of bread, hotdogs, bacons, cereals, milk, coffee and juice. Josh laughed. “Thank you. Anyway, kid. Enjoying eating.” He grinned. “Where awr you goin’ bwather Josh? Why awr you so dressed up?” “Work.” he smiled. “Can I cowm? Hayley, can I cowm with him?” “No, you can’t Taylor. I’m afraid Josh’s boss might get mad if he would bring you along.” Hayley responded. “No, it’s fine. Actually, we have a small tour today. You two can come with me. My boss would not get mad, pssh. Okay, as soon as you’re done. Clean up, change clothes and we’ll hit the road. Or, we can go somewhere else. Like uhm.. Shopping? Or whatever you guys like.” “Josh. This is too much.” Hayley mumbled. She was afraid again, what if Chad really finds out. She would beat her up, push her and drag her all over their place. Body sores, bruises, tears and blood. “Josh, I’d be dead if you do this. Maybe some other time.” “NO! I don’t wawnt to! NO! Hawyley! If you don’t wawnt to go, I’m coming with big bwather Josh!” Taylor yelped. “Hayley, if you uh.. Don’t wanna come with us. It’s completely fine. He might..” Josh said as he leaned close to Hayley so Taylor wouldn’t hear it. “beat you up again. Chad, I mean.” He whispered. “Wha-? ‘kay. Just take care of him.” she said.
Josh and Taylor left, and Hayley got back from their rented room. Chad was snoring loudly on their small bed, she sneaked in again. This time, Chad woke up, annoyed. “He-ley. Hayley? Is thaff you? Where have you been?” He said, still groggy. There were dark circles around his eyes, creepy. “Just outside.” She replied. Chad made his way to Hayley and pulled her hair with his full effort. “I need food, love. Is it ready?” Chad whispered on Hayley’s right ear. She was nervous, she didn’t know what Chad can do to her next. Tears sprung on her hazel green eyes. “What! Answer me, you little fart!” “Na.. Not yet.” She trembled. Chad hit Hayley with her huge close fist. “Please, stop. Chad.” Hayley choked, blood was oozing from her mouth. Chad was about to hit her again, but he put down his fist and hugged Hayley. “I.. I’m sorry Hayley. I.. I’m really sorry. I.. I. I didn’t know why I do that. I love you. Do you still love me?” Hayley nodded. She really loved Chad though she was maltreated always by him. She was kind, very, very kind . No matter how many times Chad beat her up, she could still manage to love, to serve his abusive evil boyfriend. She should have gone to somewhere else, far away from him. But again, she chose not to leave.
Meanwhile, Josh and Taylor have been enjoying the day. They went to different shops, play, dine, and laugh their lungs out. Just a bonding time. They were sitting on the bench when Josh turned to Taylor. “Tay, can I ask you something?” “Sure big bwather Josh.” Little Taylor replied, he was kinda busy licking his big chocolate lollipop. “Who’s Chad?” Josh asked. “He’ scary. He’s sho big. No, he’s sho huge. He‘s sawch a mad man. Then, he always hurt my sishter Hawyley. Shomtimes, he wud pull Hayley’s hair, and when she cries, Chad wud punch or slap her. I don’t wanna go back there again, bwather Josh. He’s sho scary.” Taylor described. He even stood up from where he sat and demonstrate how he saw everything. “Hayley’s husband?” “Bowfwend? I think that’s whatch you guys call it.” “Oh. I see. Now. But how come you guys don’t escape? Leave?” “I don’t know, big bwather Josh. You can ask Hayley ‘bout it. I gesh?” Taylor blinked. ___________________________________________________________________

Joshua Neil Farro. A 22-year old man who composes songs for bands and singers. He just moved in to the new apartment near his working place. He didn’t choose the apartment which he would pay a lot. He didn’t want to waste his money for some ridiculous service of maids and all. He always wanted to be simple on most things.
It was Friday. Josh began unpacking his stuff while listening on the songs in his iPod. He heard a loud, disturbing noise on his neighbor. It seems like something was being dragged. Curious, Josh stopped from unloading his things and listen closely to the alarming sound. Eventually, he heard a loud scream of a woman. Followed by broken glass, and a huge voice of a man who unceasingly shouting.
“Hey, Jerms. Man, this place is kinda strange. I can hear this screaming and.. I mean, people here are like what? War freaks? Or what?” He said to his friend Jeremy Davis over the phone that evening. “Dude, welcome to the reality. Just don’t mind them. Uh.. Probably they have some play going on there? I actually don’t know. They’ll stop. Believe me. Just focus on the song you’re working on. Okay? It’s due next week.” “Okay, okay. I’m working on it. Catch up with you tomorrow at work.” “Bye.”
The apartment was not that old. The smell of the wood was all over the place, which made Josh like it more. Everything was on a good condition, except for the fact that he doesn’t know anyone around yet.
Surprisingly, there was a soft knock on his door. He quickly stood up from his black sofa and made his way to the door. “Hello. I’m sorry to bother you but.. Wow!” A woman greeted him as the door swung open. Josh was shocked, a beautiful woman was standing on his doorway. She looked haggard and hurt. Her t-shirt was full of dirt and some blood. While a young boy with wild curls on her side, was sobbing. “Are you alright Miss?” He asked worriedly as he led the woman and the young boy inside. “Yes, I’m definitely alright. Your place uh.. looks cool. I’m Hayley by the way, and this is Taylor. My little brother. And you are?” “Thanks. I’m Josh. I’m just new here and doesn’t know anyone yet. Glad to meet you two.” Josh smiled. Hayley smiled back. “Would you look after my brother for a while? I’ll be back for him later. If you don’t mind. He really is scared. And I don’t want him near my retarded boyfriend now. He is drunk. Please! Please!” She pleaded. Her eyes were filled with tears. “Sure. No problem.” Josh answered. Then, Hayley rushed to the door and closed it.
“Hi Taylor. Everything’s going to be fine now.” Josh smiled. Taylor was quiet, he barely know this man who was talking to him. He was really scared and shocked by her sister’s boyfriend. He doesn’t want to go back at their room anymore. “Okay, I can see that you don’t really know me at all and you don’t wanna talk. So probably, we can eat. Come with me.” Josh grabbed Taylor’s wrist and led him to the small kitchen. Different candies and cookies were placed on huge glass jar at the cabinet. Josh leaned down and carry Taylor on his arms. “What do you want buddy? Let me know.” “Thaff one, please. Big Bwather Josh.” Taylor pointed the soft chewy cookie on the jar. “Wow, good taste huh?” Josh remarked. He grabbed the glass jar of soft chewy cookie from the cabinet and put it on the small wooden kitchen table. “Drinks? Milk? Juice? What do you prefer, sir?” “Juice.” Taylor replied happily. “Coming right up. Now, Taylor. I want you to sit there.” Josh pointed over the comfy sofa. “And I’ll join you after I prepare our food. Understand?” “Siwr, yesh siwr!” Taylor replied and hurriedly sat on the sofa. “Kids.” Josh smiled while putting some cookies on the plate and juice on the glass. “Taylor, so, you up for cartoons?” “Ow yesh! Yesh! Yesh!!” He answered as he jumped up and down on the couch. His smile was huge. “Okay kid. Slow down. What do you want?” Josh laughed as he joined Taylor, along with the cookies, chips and their drinks. “Spongeeeebawb!” He replied happily. “Okay then, let’s get it on.” Josh turned on the television and switched the channel to Spongebob.
Taylor grabbed a few cookies and stuff it all in his mouth. “Ow. Big bwather Jowsh! Thish ish sho yummy!” “Careful kid. You might choke.” Josh laughed as he remind Taylor.
They were in the middle of watching when someone screamed again. “Ah! No! Chad! Please! Stop!! No! Please. Don’t! Please. No!” “What was that?” Josh asked to Taylor. But as he turn his head on Taylor’s direction, the kid was already snoring.

Hayley's POV.
There is only one word to describe the situation. Insane. The memory is still lingering in my mind. It was Tuesday, when it happened. After a week of keeping questions to myself, I finally decided to ask Josh about it. I’m really confused. I don’t know who am I going to believe in. If it’s Selena or Josh.
“Hayley. Please. I don’t want to talk about it.” Josh argued, his eyes were flickering on mine. “No. Just answer. Did you just .. Try to kill her?” My curiosity is just killing me. It makes me want to ask more even though I can see that Josh really doesn’t want to talk about it. “Josh. It’s true, isn’t it? You tried to kill her.” I mumbled. “Please. Just stop asking me such questions. Please?!” His facial expression look horrible. “All I’m asking is your answer Joshua. What?” I’m starting to feel afraid. He seems guilty. Maybe Selena is right? Oh no. Josh. How could you? He didn’t respond anymore. He held a firm grip on the golden key and later on, put it on the ignition. Before he drive off, I jumped outside the car and run as fast I could. I heard him, yelling for my name. But I didn’t look back. It’s just simple. All I wanted is to know the truth.
I blame myself for everything. If I didn’t run. If I didn’t nag him. That wouldn’t happen. Josh had an accident the night we fought. I don’t know exactly what has happened because Emily just called to tell me about it. There is one thing I do know, it’s all my fault.
“Josh. Oh my god.” I rushed to his side as soon as the door swung open. “Oh no! What did I do? What have I done? No!!” I wailed. Josh was lying on the hospital bed. His eyes were closed. He was breathing through the tubes that were sucked up to his nose. While the other tubes were placed on his wrists. “Please Josh. Wake up. Please, open your eyes Josh. Please. Please. Please.” I sobbed. “Please. Don’t make this hard for me. I’m so sorry Josh. Please. Can you hear me? Joshua! Please. Wake up. JOSHUAAAAAAAAAA!”
“He won’t wake yet.” Selena said. I quickly stood up , wiped away the tears from my face and turn around. “The doctor said that it might take him three weeks to wake up again.” she said. She flopped herself comfortably on the sofa near the curtained window. My eyes were following her every movement. “Oh god.” I mumbled.
After a couple of hours, I left. I grabbed several clothes because I’m staying over, just to look after Josh. I feel really stupid for letting this happen to him. If I didn’t nag him, this wouldn’t happen.
The night was crawling in. Then, the doctor came inside. She was wearing, of course, the white gown that doctors usually wear. She was also wearing an eyeglasses, her hair was pulled up in a bun and her stethoscope was curled up in her hands. She seems nice. I wonder why she’s the one who is checking Josh’s condition. I mean, nurses do that. I waited for her to finish.
“Umm.. Doctor? May I ask you a favor?” I asked, my voice was hoarse. She was about to leave then. “Yes, what is it?” She replied, looking back to me. “Can you look after my boyfriend when I leave?” I asked. “Of course, we’ll be taking in charge.” She smiled. “What I mean is that.. I’m leaving. I’m off to New York soon and I don’t know if Josh will wake up then. So, that’s it. His family isn’t around because they were gone to their granny’s. No one‘s gonna look after him” “Don’t worry about it, sweetie. I‘ll help you.” She promised. “Thanks.” I forced a smile and the doctor smiled back. She left after a few minutes.
Selena’s POV.
I curled up my hand on the doorknob of Josh’s room when I suddenly heard someone talking. I just got back from the canteen to grab a cup of coffee. I pressed my ears close to the door and tried to listen carefully. Oh. So little orange-haired girl will leave Joshie. Perfect. Josh will be mine, again. I quickly act innocent when the door swung open. I smiled at the doctor and stepped inside. I saw Hayley beside Josh’s hospital bed. She was holding Josh’s hand and kept on rubbing it slowly.
“Hello.” I said with a fake smile. My nerves are starting to crack up inside, it makes me want to throw my hot coffee on Hayley’s face. “Hi. I thought you left.” She replied, her voice was weak and tired. “No, I didn’t. I’ll stay here with you.” I said. I won’t let Hayley look after Josh alone. “Oh. I asked Emily to come over too. Thanks. By the way, I also thought you were mad at Josh after what he did to you.” She said. “What did he do?” I asked. I could not remember anything that I’ve said to this girl. “You know, when you’re in the parking lot. Blah blah blah.” She replied. “OH! I.. I.. I.. uh. I tend to forget things. It doesn’t matter to me now, anyways.” I sipped my coffee slowly, just to hide the nervousness I felt. That was so close. I thought she’d caught me lying.
A few moments later, Emily came. She was wearing a tight pants and a t-shirt. Her huge bag was hanging on her left shoulder and her cell phone was on her ivory hands. The three of us barely slept. Hayley stayed at Josh’s side almost the whole night, while Emily took short naps on the sofa. I, on the other hand was on the other side of the sofa.
If I could just kill Hayley and Emily, things would have been better than what they seem.
Not Hayley’s POV.
Two weeks had passed and Hayley was about to leave for New York. Aunt Cheska already prepared everything that she might be needing for college. It was hard for her to leave Josh like that. Hayley left a letter for Josh, kissed Josh’s forehead, mumbled I love you and buzzed off.
Hayley is on her way to New York.
After a little while, Doctor Sheena, the doctor who said that she’ll look after Josh when Hayley leaves got inside Josh’s room. She saw the brown envelope where Hayley’s letter inside. She grabbed it from the side table and slipped it into her white gown pocket.
And just when the right timing, Selena arrived.
Selena’s POV.
I hurriedly made my way inside Josh’s room and saw her doctor inside. I smiled and asked if she saw Hayley.
“No, I did not. But there was a letter, I think. I found it over the table. Here.” She said as she gets the envelope from her pocket. She handed it to me. I quickly looked at the back and saw Josh’s name written on it. “Thank you. I thought I’d lost it.” I smiled.
Gotcha. Poor Hayley. Josh will not ever read your letter. I won’t let him.
The doctor got out of the room after she checked Josh’s condition. I was staring outside the window when I heard someone murmuring.
“He.. Hay.. Hayley. Hayley.. Hay. Hayley.” It's Josh's voice.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Paramore is having their tour, together with New Found Glory. Hayley from Paramore and Chad from New Found Glory have been dating for the past five months. While Josh, on the other hand, have been busy with his own girlfriend. Josh tried to keep a distance from the two ever since the tour has started. It’s been five years since Josh and Hayley broke up. Probably because people are trying to focus on their love team instead of their band. It cause too much pain for them, but eventually they moved on. I guess.
Chad. A guy with tattoos on his arms, have a muscular body, a lot taller than Hayley and with a good personality. Josh. He was like a shy type of person. He barely talk nor share his feelings to anyone. Anyone but Hayley.
***
I ran to the sink at the bus and hurriedly washed my dirty face. Jeremy slapped a plate of icing on my face. That’s him when he is really in the mood for fun. I was talking on the phone then. But that doesn’t matter. I mean, it’s not really a big offense for me.
As soon as I was done, I ran made my way outside the small comfort room on the tour bus when I accidentally collided with someone. So now that’s me, being clumsy.
“Ow!” I exclaimed from a sudden shock. It seems like I hit a wall. Just see the difference, a muscular body and a skinny one. I would really get hurt. I rubbed my arms, trying to ease the pain. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to.” A manly voice apologized. I fixed my gaze on the man standing right in front of me. “Josh.” I winced when I said his name. That’s totally odd. “Hayley. Look, are you hurt?” He asked worriedly. He even held my arm. “I.. I’m fine. Don’t worry.” I smiled. “Promise, Joshie.” “So, do you want to take revenge? You can punch me if you wanna.” He said teasingly. “I mean it.” “Nah, I won’t do it. So, yeah. I gotta go. Chad is uh.. Waiting for me outside.” I lied. I just made it all up because I hate the way I act when it’s only Josh and I. It gets a little awkward and I can barely breathe. The hallway, I don’t know if I would call it hallway, but it seems so small for two people to get through. I excused myself and took few steps. “Not so fast, Hayley.” Josh grabbed my right wrist. Then, he scooped me on his shoulders. He was like carrying an empty sack. I’m not that heavy so it doesn’t bother him, carrying me like that. “Wey! Put me down! Let me down!” I exclaimed. I don’t know what will be his next plan. “NO!” he replied devilishly. Then, he lay me down on the couch and began tickling me. I can’t help myself from laughing out loud. “Josh. Pli.. Please. STOP! I can’t.. Waa. Josh! NO!” I screamed. “Okay. I’ll stop.” He removed his hands from my tummy and stood up. “Oh. What’s that?” He asked. Looking directly on my blouse. Well, I’m wearing a low dark green blouse. I flushed. “What?” I shot back. My cheeks are really burning from humiliation. Imagine, he’s staring at my boobs. “There’s a..” He whispered. His hands were heading to my blouse. Oh shoot! “No. Please, Josh.” I stepped back. My heart is hammering wildly against my chest. We’re the only one left in the tour bus. Everyone else is outside because we’re having a “small” feast. “Please, Hayley.” Josh took a step towards me. I could see Josh’s hand reaching for my blouse. Yes, my blouse. Err-. “No! please!” I closed my eyes firmly. “Ew. What’s that? An icing? Oh holy crap! Where did you get this?” He asked. I slowly opened my eyes, puzzled. He show his thumb with an icing. “Oh boy. I guess my shirt have an icing already!” He exclaimed. And stretch his shirt from the back to front. “Oh.” I looked down on my blouse. And there’s really an icing on it. Yay! False alarm. That was way stupid. Absolutely. Josh guffawed. “What?” I asked. “You should have seen your own face. It’s really hilarious. It seems like you’re about to cry.” He laughed. “Ahuh? Is that so?” I retorted. I grabbed a pillow on the couch and throw it straight to his face. And I throw him more. “Hayley, okay. Stop.” He said, he’s covering his face. But he’s laughing. Boy, this guy is so weird. “No, I won’t.” We’re both laughing in unison as I continue to throw pillows on him.
“Hayle.. Hey.” Chad appeared. His voice sounded happy and down to a cold one. “Oh. I thought you.. Um, never mind. So, shall we? The guys are having a showdown.” Chad offered his hand and I hesitated to take it. Why so? Chad grabbed my wrist and looked to me then to Josh. “Oh hey there Chad.” Josh greeted him. “You comin’?” Chad asked to Josh, who is heading to his bunk. “Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute.” Josh replied and turn his back to us. “Let’s go. They’re really hysterical.” Chad led me outside. I didn’t even look back, ‘cause I know Josh isn’t looking at all.
So true, the guys are really hysterical. Jeremy and Taylor are dancing like mad, so as the others. Josh is with us a few minutes before the guys started another crazy dance. He grabbed a drink and sat afar from us. He likes being alone sometimes, and it’s killing me to see him like that. I barely talk to him because, I don’t know. Probably the reason of ending our relationship a few years ago isn’t really a good idea. There are times that I miss him and there are times that I don’t. It’s really not a good sign.
He’s now heading to the place where everyone else’s seat is located. Of course, including mine. I quickly look away and watch the guys. A few moments later, I heard Josh say ‘I love you’. I know, he’s the one who said it. I know.
“Okay, I’ll say it again. I love you.” Josh said. Am I dreaming? Really? Josh is saying this to me? When Chad is sitting right next to me! “I guess. I still love you.” I replied. I remain calm and silent to my seat. I just confessed it to him. Even if my boyfriend is around. What the heck, Hayley. “Ahm.. Okay, see you soon. Bye.” Phone. Josh isn’t talking to me! But rather, he’s talking to someone else. “Hayley, you up for some BBQ?” Josh asked. When I turned my head, Josh is there, smiling with a phone on his hand. “Yeah, sure.” We both stood up and grabbed BBQs on the table at our left side. It was full of BBQs, cake, hotdogs and so on. Did Chad hear me a while ago? When I mumbled those words. Arghhh..
Josh and I were talking about her girlfriend. I just remain silent because I don’t know how will I respond to him. My head is spinning, twirling in confusion. “Yeah, so that’s it. Hayley, I don’t know. But I can’t see my future with her.” He said. “Why not?” I asked curiously. I held the cup of juice in my hand. “Because.. I’d rather spend my future with you. I love you Hayley.” He mumbled, staring deeply into my eyes.
Okay. Pause. Rewind. This is not really happening.
“But Josh. I can’t. There’s no way we can get back together. There must be a way but I can’t risk my relationship with Chad just because of my selfish wants. I’m sorry.” I whispered. I’m so sorry. I still love you too, Josh.
Josh nodded and walk away from me.
What hurts the most Was being so close And having so much to say And watching you walk away And never knowing What could have been.

Selena’s POV.
“There was a snowstorm last Christmas, right? He was very eager to leave me alone at the rest house. He said, he wanted to go home. But I can’t let him drive in the middle of a storm! He insisted that he must go. When I didn’t agree, he grabbed a knife and pointed it to me. I just stood frozen while he was asking where did I put the car keys. I’m afraid that he would kill me so I just followed his instructions. After that, he left. And, a while ago, I was walking over the parking lot when someone grabbed me. It was Josh! Again, pointing a small knife on my neck. He said that I must stay away from both of you. But I can’t Hayley. You’re the only one that I can trust, now.” I explained, trying to keep the lie smooth. “I. I don’t believe this.” Hayley mumbled. Her eyes were filled with tears. “It’s true. I.. I’m not lying.” I winced and started to cry again. “Come on, Sel.” Hayley took my hand and help me get up. “Thanks.” I mumbled.
KRINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
The bell rang and students started to head to their class. Hayley gave me a hug and I left.
I wiped my tears away. “Stupid.” I mumbled to myself.
Hayley’s POV.
Is it true? Did really Josh try to kill Selena? No. I know Josh. He won’t do it. He won’t totally do such thing. I headed to my class with my book clinging to my arms.
“Hey. You okay?” Josh asked over as I took my seat. He moved directly beside me and leaned in. “Yeah.” I grinned. “Great.” He smiled and headed to his seat.
Madam Cornelia, our English teacher. A boring one. Huge glasses like those in magnifying glass. She’s wearing baggy clothes most of the time and loafers. She has a huge mole, sitting right in front of her big nose. Okay, so probably my description is a bit sarcastic? Oh whatever. And the way she talks, ugh. How I wish I was listening to the crickets at night instead of listening to her “un-womanly” voice.
She was having a discussion about Odyssey. Gah. Someone called my attention, an airplane paper landed straight into my desk. It was no ordinary paper but rather a beautiful one. I slowly unfolded it and see the message written.
Mrs. Hayley Farro,
I’ll pick you up at 7:30pm. Well, what will happen later is gonna be a secret for now. I LOVE YOU.
Your husband, Josh Farro
I giggled. “So I guess Ms. Williams knows the answer to my question. What is being thrown at the banquet hall?” Madam Cornelia asked. Her boring eyes are making me sleepy. “Oh. The golden apple.” I answered. “Very well then. That‘s right.” She smiled, satisfied on my answer.
I glanced at Josh and whispered “yes”.
~~~***~~~ I tried to look for Selena all over the rooms before I go home. But unfortunately, she’s nowhere to be found. She must have left the school early. I headed straight home. I have to do my assignments first before I have a date with Josh. Oh yes. Another date again.
“Umm. Sis’ Cheska?” I asked over as soon I opened the house door. “Oh, sis’ Hayley?” She replied with a smile on her face. She popped her head from the kitchen. Which reminds me of Mom. I brush away the thought ‘cause I’m afraid that I might end up crying. “How’s your day here at house?” I asked, as I dropped my bag and headed to the kitchen counter. “Quite good. Never mind me anyway, so. How’s school then?” she asked as she handed me a plate of cookies and a glass of orange juice. “Pretty normal. Nothing has changed.” I replied. Stuffing one cookie to my mouth. “ ‘Kay. So.. Hayley, I want to tell you this, since February. But I don’t know how will I say this to you.” Aunt Cheska said, as she took a seat across from mine. “What’s that? You can tell it now, I guess.” I smiled. I wonder what is she going to tell me. “Well, I’ve been staying here for a few months. Just to let you know Hayles, I just file a leave for three or four months. If I exceed on that leave, I will lose my job there at New York. I don’t know what’s gonna be your reaction but we have to move there as soon as possible. I don’t want to stress you out honey. I’m so sorry.” She said with a shaky voice. I don’t want to be such a heavy burden to Aunt Cheska after what she have done for me.
I remained silent.
“Hayley, I’m so, so, sorry, honey. Goodnight.” Aunt Cheska planted a kiss on my forehead and went upstairs. I just nod.
This is going to be hard for me. I can’t leave everyone behind. Josh. Zac. Emily. My childhood memories. I bowed my head in confusion and say my prayer. Asking for God’s guidance and wisdom. No one’s gonna look after me if I’ll let Aunt Cheska go alone. It will be hard. A tough decision must be made.
A few moments later, I’m getting ready for my date with Josh. I wonder where are we going. Hmmm.. Then, the doorbell rang. I quickly stuffed my things in a small knapsack and hurriedly made my way downstairs. I don’t really have to be in a formal dress. I just wear a red stripes tee and a black skinny jeans.
Josh took me to a cozy restaurant that I’ve never been before. The place is very comfy and someone is singing on the background, live. There were couples and families around us too. Enjoying their pizzas, pastas and fries. The waiter handed us two menus and waited for our orders. After that, Josh and I began chatting.
When our food arrived, Josh and I started pigging out. We ordered frappés, fries, burgers and pasta too. I don’t know why we ordered many foods, probably because we‘re stressing out with school? Or something? We just keep the conversation going as we eat.
Josh stood up from his seat but he’s not yet done, so do I. “Where are you going?” I asked as I stopped from chewing. He didn’t reply. Instead, he just flashed a smile. I followed him with my eyes and I cannot believe what I’m seeing. He has a microphone on his right hand. He will sing, won’t he? The music started to play and he held up the microphone close to his mouth. A spotlight is focused on him.
“When the visions around you, Bring tears to your eyes And all that surround you, Are secrets and lies I’ll be your strength, I’ll give you hope..”
Josh came down to the stage and made his way to me. I don’t know how will I smile. The happiness down in my heart is really indescribable. As soon as Josh reached me, he took my hand and help me get up.
“And I will take You in my arms And hold you right where you belong Till the day my life is through This I promise you This I promise you.” he sang.
He planted his lips on mine and kissed me passionately. The people in the restaurant started to applaud and you could hear them cheering ang whistling. I giggled and hugged Josh after the kiss.
“Umm.. Hayley, I know, this is kinda early. But..” Josh kneels down. And he revealed a small box on his hand. “Ms. Hayley Nichole Williams, will you marry me?” The crowd got silent. I could only hear my heart beating against my chest. Before I say yes to him. I remember what Aunt have said. I’m planning to say yes to her and let us live in New York. How about Josh then? The more I think about it. The more I get confused.
You could hear everyone in the restaurant saying ‘congratulations’ to us as we left. It’s too early to get married. We haven’t graduated yet.
“Josh.” I mumbled. “I..” “I know, it’s early. I’m sorry. But I can’t wait till next year to propose.” He apologized. “That’s okay.” I smiled. “You don’t know how happy I am tonight. Thank you.”
My heart is dictating me to ask him about what happened last Christmas. I really want to ask. So bad. ___________________________________________________________
Hayley’s POV.
I reached the house and managed my way to the front door. Just few more steps, Hayley. I said to myself while I forced my feet to move. When I entered the house, I heard Auntie was talking over the kitchen. I bet she has a friend over, you know. I made my way to the fridge without even looking at them. After I grabbed my drink, I turned around, thinking that I must greet our visitor. And to my surprise, my boyfriend, Josh Farro was there. Wearing a stunned expression on his face.
I just stood there like a doll for a few minutes. I really don’t know what am I going to say or act whatsoever. Aunt Cheska cleared her throat, “I guess, I’m gonna go.”
As soon as Aunt disappeared from my sight, I’m about to say something when Josh interrupted me from doing so.
“Why did you lie?” He seems like he’s about to cry. I remained silent. I don’t know how will I respond from his question. “Hayley, please tell me the truth.” He held my arms. “I promise not to be mad at you. But please, tell me. What’s going on? We haven’t talked for almost one week.” “Will you wait here for a sec? I’m going to grab my jacket and let’s have a walk outside. Is that fine with you? Then, we’ll talk.” I couldn’t even look directly on his eyes. I’m already caught. But how? “Sure. I’ll wait for you outside.” He agreed, then I urgently excused myself to go upstairs.
When I entered my room, I felt my cell phone snoozed. Someone’s calling.
“Hayley?” A voice asked on the other line. “Yeah, speaking. Who’s this?” I asked over while I’m looking over the pile of clothes. “Sel! Oh my gosh! I’m right here outside your house. Oh gee. Shoot. Mom ask if she could borrow the necklace, I said I lend it over to a friend and get it now. What am I going to do? Oh please. Help me!” Selena exclaimed over the line. Is it the bad luck night? “Sure, but uh.. Okay. Wait, I’ll give it to you now. But it’s not sufficient. I’m sorry.” I mumbled. Crap. Josh would really caught me in the act. There’s no need for me to lie again this time. I’m gonna tell him everything he must know. Every detail. “That’s okay. I’ll just borrow any amount of money to Cecilia. I’ll wait for you. Thank you so much Hayley! You really are my savior! I owe you so much!” She said, I’m hoping she’s not disappointed about the money. “Okay. Wait up.” I said, then hung up. I grabbed my another wallet, where I put the saved money for Selena.
I hurriedly made my way outside the house. And look for Josh and Selena.
///
Josh’s POV.
I got outside of Hayley’s house and wander over. Afterwards, I saw a tall girl over the sidewalk. She seemed familiar to me. Selena. What is she doing here? Is she stalking me? No, that’s not it. There’s a particular reason why she is here. Really. There is something.
“Ha-ha! Yes! We succeeded! Hayleygirl will give me the money now. We got her now! I’ll drop by at your house afterwards. Bye.” I heard her. I’m about to take a step towards her when Hayley called my name.
“Joshie.” She mumbled, as she took my hand. “Come on, let’s go.” “What’s that? In your hand?” I asked. There’s a brown envelope on her hand. “I’ll explain it to you later.” She whispered as she squeezed my hand.
“Selena?” Hayley called. Selena turned around, perhaps delighted. Then, she looked directly on our intertwined hands. Her smile just faded and replaced by a miserable expression. Hayley ran up to Selena and gave her the brown envelope. They both hugged each other and Selena thanked Hayley and left.
“Okay, what’s that all about?” I asked, confused. They have some negotiation going on and I don’t have any clue what’s that. “I gave her the money she needed.” Hayley answered. “Okay, I’ll tell you everything that has happened.”
Afterwards she narrated the story. She also mentioned about Emily, telling her that it was all a lie of Selena. But she didn’t believe it. Selena is just using Hayley for some purpose.
“Hayley, you better stay away from that girl.” I warned, as we came into halt. “Josh. Okay, I’ll try. But why? Are you making that all up? I mean, Selena won’t do that to me.” She argued. “If that’s what you want. And if that’s your decision. There’s nothing I can do.” I give up. Selena just brainwashed my girlfriend. I just bowed my head in defeat.
Her hand ran up to my face and lifted it. “Josh. Sorry. Okay, I’ll stay away from her. If it’ll make you pleased?” She smiled.
I slowly placed my hand on her cheeks and leaned in, crushing my lips from hers.
///
Selena’s POV.
Once I received the money from Hayley, I said my thank you and hurriedly left. If I stay there any longer, I will slap Hayley’s face. And Josh’s too. I can’t really believe Josh is there with Hayley! I thought they wouldn’t be together after what I’ve done. I headed to Cecilia’s place afterwards and told her everything that I saw.
“Calm down, Sel.” Cecilia said while letting her new painted nails dry. “How am I going to calm down! I thought Josh and Hayley would split up! They are this close from splitting up.” I illustrated my thumb and index finger, so close to each other. “Can’t you just move on? I mean, Josh and Hayley. They haven’t done anything bad to you. What’s with all that revenge? You’re just making yourself a bitch.” She mumbled as she rolled her eyes. “I don’t know. I just don’t know. You have to help me, I want them to split up or anything!” I raised one brow. “No, not anymore Selena. Will ya stop it? Damn! You’re making their lives miserable. Soon, it‘s gonna be your turn to be miserable. I‘m telling you.” She warned. “Are you threatening me?” I asked over. “No, I’m not. Why? Are you threatened? I’m just telling the truth.” She replied. “You’re not a friend!” I yelled and left her.
Whatever. I have something in mind.
Two weeks later.
///
Hayley’s POV.
This is really an amazing week for me. Josh and I spend so much time together. We went to the park, have a picnic or anything we can do under the sun. I already developed all our pictures and have it pinned on my wall.
I’ve taken Josh’s advice at heart. I stayed away from Selena.
I was over by the lockers when Selena caught me. “Hayley, I have to tell you something!” She exclaimed. You could see her sweat all over her forehead. Her make-up is a mess. Her hair needs a comb. What happened to her? Then she began to cry. Sobbing like a child, as she slowly sat on the floor. Selena wouldn’t do this. I swear. I wonder what happened.
“Hey, what happened? You okay?” I bent down. “Hayl..Hayley. Josh tried to kill me again.” She said between sobs. “Wait. Josh tried what? Kill? You? Again?” I asked, puzzled. Josh wouldn’t kill someone. Duh. With his personality? Attitude? Come on. He’s not like that. I know him since we were kids. “Yes. Didn’t he tell you about what happened last Christmas? Of course, he won’t tell you. He wants to make himself neat.” She mumbled, like she was only talking to herself.
anyway, thank you.
------------------------
Hayley’s POV.
I should not have hopped in this car. I should not have. I said to myself.
“Okay. Okay. First, Zac. Please don’t tell Josh about this.” I wailed. My eyes were focused outside but when I glanced at Zac he was on his phone, talking. “Oh Josh! Hayley’s with me. See you at home. Yes! Exactly! She’s helping Selena. Stupid necklace. Don’t you know anything about it?” Zac exclaimed. Oh crap. How am I going to explain this to Josh? He might get mad at me for not telling him. Think of something, Hayley. Crap! Zac. I can smother you now! I grabbed the phone of Zac and began to talk. “Josh. It’s not Selena—not your ex. It’s my cousin.” I defended myself. I don’t want Josh to know anything about this. I swear. But why? My conscience asked me. “Oh.” His tone sounded offended. “I thought it was her.” “No. She’s not her.” My voice sounded hoarse and this lying on him is not really right. It seems like I’m betraying him. Throwing away his trust. Everything? Zac looked up to me. His facial expression was puzzled. Like he didn’t believe me. “Hayley, why did you lie?” He whispered. I signaled wait and whispered my goodbye to Josh a few minutes later.
“Zac.” I began, my head is spinning. “Sorry about that, but please don’t ever tell Josh about me lying.” I admitted. “But why? Hayley? Haven’t you listened to what Emily told you? She’s right. Why don’t you believe her?” Zac retorted. I remembered the night when Emily and I had a little argument regarding that necklace. Necklace? Is that really the problem? Or is there something else? “Zac, I know. Selena is not lying. Why would she lie to me anyway? Hm? Please, just for once. Try to understand. This is my decision. And please, try to cover up for me if ever your brother ask anything about it. Okay? Just keep this to yourself.”
Josh’s POV.
I was talking to Zac. He was telling me about Selena and Hayley. Well, it was all about this necklace. I don’t have any clue where in the world Zac got that message. Hayley haven’t mentioned anything about it and there’s no way she would hide something like that to me. Wouldn’t she? She said it’s her cousin. Not my ex. I sighed.
“Hey Josh.” A recognizable voice approached my puzzled mind. “What do ‘ya want Selena?” I asked, annoyed. “Nothing, where’s Hayley? You know, umm.. Please tell her that we’ll talk later. Thanks.” When I turned around, she’s not there anymore. She just vanished in the bustling crowd.
It’s been a long day and it kinda sucks. A day without Hayley around. “Josh!” Hayley exclaimed as her door flew open. I dropped by at her house as soon as I left school. I really miss her, so much. She threw her arms around me, still shocked. “Don’t you want me around? You know, I can disappear now.” I kid. I pulled away and took two steps backward. “Not funny, Joshua.” She smiled. “How are you by the way?” She asked as she led me to their cozy living room. The refreshing scent filled my nose. “Bad. Pretty Bad.” I flopped down on the sofa together with her. “Why?” Her hazel green eyes were locked on mine as she pressed herself closer to me. “Hmm.. Because you’re not around.” I said with a smile, slowly leaning into her. “Oh Josh.” She said as she buried her hands on her face. “Hey, why did you cover your face?” I took a pause and face her. “Nothing.” She laughed. “I’m .. I’m not prepared. Want some juice or something?” She asked as she stood up from her seat and headed to their kitchen. “Anything will do.” I replied and followed her. “Hayles, what’s with your cousin Selena? What happened? Can you tell me?” “Not now Josh, I’ll tell you some other time. If that’s fine with you.” She grabbed the jug for juice at the fridge and started to fill the two glasses on the table. “Oh. Okay. Sorry.” I replied. She’s not acting like this before. Afterwards, she handed me an almost filled glass of orange juice. She just sipped her drink quietly and sat down across my seat.
A few weeks later.
Hayley’s POV.
I saved up almost fifty dollars. Thirty to go. Few weeks have passed and I feel more exhausted. I’ve been doing tons of homework during my vacant period at school, like recess and lunch break. I barely have a chit chat with Josh or with anyone. Last week, I go straight ahead to E-mart for my work. No time for social life, that’s what I mean.
Hayley, I miss you so much. Let’s talk. Love, Josh
That’s what the letter have said. I saw it over my locker just this lunch break. Josh. I miss you too. Just few more days and everything will be back to normal. I swear. I hope he’s not mad at me.
At work today, I nearly bumped into a pyramid of corned beefs. Good thing I managed to control myself for doing so. Whew. Or else, Ma’am Emily might kick me out of this grocery store.
It’s six thirty in the evening and I bid goodbye to my co-workers, and to Ms. Emily. I just work there at E-mart part-time. Aunt isn’t fully aware that I’m doing this, so as my friends, except from Zac.
Josh’s POV.
I really miss Hayley. Though we’re classmates, she barely talk to me or even glance at my side. When the bell rang every time, she hurriedly left the class room like she’s always on a rush. So, I planned to visit her tonight. Missing her is driving me nuts.
When I reached her house, her aunt welcomed me. She said Hayley’s not home yet and she asked how‘s school and all. I wonder what my girlfriend is up to this past few weeks. Then, I remember that I ask Hayley about her cousin Selena.
“I’m just wondering, does Hayley have a cousin named Selena?” I asked, trying to act casual. “She doesn’t have. Why did you ask?” Her aunt replied.
